There's beautiful nature right next to the beach, where the sand surrounds the green area. You might be lucky enough to spot kitesurfers on the beach, as the area is good for this type of water sport.

To get the most out of a genuine beach day, make sure to set aside most of the day. Pack a large bag with snacks, lunch, plenty of cold, refreshing drinks, and not least sunscreen. If you want to be sure you don't get sunburned, bring a parasol. Furthermore, it's also important to bring things that you and those you're with can entertain yourselves with on the beach. You might want to pack gear for building sandcastles or some beach tennis to play at the water's edge. Since Ahl Strand is shallow, it's also a good place for paddleboarding.

Avoid the crowds that can be found at popular spots around Djursland and discover Lushage. There's plenty of animal and plant life, it's a sun-sure spot, and it's home to the Danish bird spider – but fear not, it's only 18 millimetres long and extremely rare if you're afraid of spiders. On a clear summer day, you might be lucky enough to see all the way to Samsø and even – with a bit of goodwill – Zealand. If you're up for it, you can continue your trip from Lushage to Sletterhage Fyr. In the summer, it's possible to go up the lighthouse and get the most incredible view over the sea.

Visit Møllerup Gods

At Møllerup Gods, you can explore their fine farm shop. The estate is centrally located in Mols Bjerge, and they sell food and skincare products based on hemp seeds. When you are at the estate, you can take a historical tour of the place or listen to lectures on why they cultivate hemp seeds.

The beautiful estate has existed since the 12th century, and despite its breathtaking history, it has been a family farm since the 1920s, now in its fifth generation. Just seeing the estate is an experience. The estate has the most beautiful gardens and surrounding nature, which are in fine contrast to the yellow half-timbered buildings.
