Visiting Sarah and Michael’s musical home
We venture to the heart of Frederiksberg in Copenhagen to visit Sarah and Michael in their light-filled apartment on the second floor of a historic 1896 building. After sharing their wonderful holiday home in Vejby with our community of guests, they have now chosen to be part of Landfolk Urban and open the doors to their private city sanctuary as well. A home dedicated to family and music, serving as a grounding anchor in their busy everyday life.
As passion-driven entrepreneurs, the couple is used to a life in motion, building businesses and chasing new ideas. But here, they have created a home where the pace slows down and the focus shifts to what truly matters. Stepping into the living room, you immediately feel that this is a home where music and personal stories are the foundations of the interior, creating a space that feels warm and welcoming.
“Throughout the home you’ll find carefully chosen secondhand pieces, handmade works by artists in our family, and rugs we’ve brought back from Marrakech, adding warmth, texture, and stories from our travels.”

At the center of it all stands the grand piano, a family heirloom that Sarah, who is also a piano teacher, plays almost daily. “In our home, music is usually playing - sometimes from the piano, adding warmth to the open spaces.” she says, “it’s a place to land, breathe, and reconnect while the city hums gently just outside.”
The heart of the home is the open, social kitchen, designed for long dinners, board games, and good wine.
"Afternoons often gather around the kitchen table, with conversations flowing between homework, business ideas, and plans for the week," Michael says.
"Thoughtful touches, genuine care, and quick, warm communication make guests feel at ease from the very first moment, and that philosophy naturally follows us into our city home.”
Experienced hosts with a specific philosophy
After sharing their beloved holiday home with the Landfolk community, Sarah and Michael are now among the very first to open the doors to their private city home as well. "When we share our home, it becomes an exchange where we inspire each other across countries and cultures," Sarah says. "There’s something special about stepping into a space filled with stories, personality, and everyday rituals."
Having hosted many guests in their holiday home, the couple has brought a specific hosting philosophy into the city. "Hosting has taught us that the smallest details create the biggest memories," they note. "Thoughtful touches, genuine care, and quick, warm communication make guests feel at ease from the very first moment, and that philosophy naturally follows us into our city home.”

The neighbourhood of Frederiksberg
Sarah and Michael’s home is placed in beautiful Frederiksberg - a quiet sanctuary filled with refined charm, local specialty shops, and green oases. “The neighborhood feels calm and local, with families and everyday life, yet it sits right in the heart of the city. The metro is just around the corner with direct access to both the city center and the airport. Downstairs you’ll find great takeaway spots, wine bars, and a bakery that makes mornings feel effortless.”

Sarah and Michael’s Frederiksberg favourites
Freshly baked bread: Mornings often begin with the scent of freshly baked bread from Det Franske Conditori just below the apartment. We also love stopping by Emmerys, or picking up treats from the beloved Hart Bakery on Gammel Kongevej.
The local coffee spots: Meyers, Ipsen or Polly on Gammel Kongevej are our go-to spots - all perfect for a slow, quiet coffee moment and a gentle start to the day.
Drinks and wine: For relaxed evenings, we love Marstrand or Rascal - places where the atmosphere is easy and conversations tend to linger. Bird on Gammel Kongevej is a really cool cocktail bar with a perfect vibe.
A place for calm breaks: Landbohøjskolens Have is our nearby oasis - lush, peaceful, and perfect for slowing down. Otherwise, simply enjoying a morning coffee on our balcony as the city slowly wakes up is one of our favorite everyday luxuries.
