Enjoy the view from the dunes at Tinkerup Beach
Recommended by Lise-Lotte.
Tinkerup Beach is a wondrous beach, sometimes a lovely sandy beach, and other times filled with stones. It is the wind and weather that determine how the beach looks, and that is what gives the beach its very special charm. You never quite know what it will look like on the day you visit the beach.
However, Tinkerup Beach is much more than just beach life. If you leave the beach for a while and venture up onto the dunes, you have a unique view over the wild cliffs. The coast here is shaped in a very special way, where the sand stretches out into the water, forming small peninsulas. A perfect place to enjoy the sunset on a warm summer evening. In winter, when there is an ice winter, you can experience beautiful ice formations along the coast.
Get a nature-close experience at Rabarbergaarden
Recommended by Christina.
In scenic and rural surroundings, in the middle of Vejby and Tibirke, you will find the organic farm, Rabarbergaarden. Rabarbergaarden is an organic farm with a restaurant, grocery store, and plant nursery. But in reality, Rabarbergaarden is much more than just a farm. Rabarbergaarden is a lifestyle project with a vision to run a holistic farm in balance with the earth and nature. Rabarbergaarden is a place where you can have a complete experience in harmony with nature.
Rabarbergaarden's farm bakery also makes fantastic bread, which you can enjoy in the beautiful orangery, while the children play with the farm animals.
Experience nature and the special atmosphere in Tisvilde Lund
Recommended by Jens Thomas.
Tisvilde offers both beautiful nature experiences like Tibirke Bakker, and one of the country's best sandy beaches, Tisvildeleje Strand. But especially in the area around Tisvilde Lund, you can experience a truly unique atmosphere. Tisvilde Lund is a hidden bohemian area that attracted many performing artists back in the day. The area contains fine, historic houses and the settlement along the fence paints a fine chapter of summer houses from the 20s and 30s. Several of the roads are named after former residents, such as the artist couple Margot Nyholm and Victor Bendix. Here, there is still a special cultural, relaxed, and glamorous atmosphere that simply must be experienced.
From the gravel road in Tisvilde Lund, there is direct access to Tisvilde Hegn, which is a real troll forest with burial mounds, castle ruins, and plenty of animal and plant life. Tisvilde Hegn is also known for its rich biodiversity and is a popular spot for mushroom hunters.
Explore Orø's beautiful nature
Recommended by Sophie.
Orø is a small island located in Isefjorden, where you can experience unique nature and exciting local specialties. Orø is only an hour's drive from Copenhagen, and you get there by a cozy cable ferry from Hammer Bakke.
On Orø, there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful nature experiences. You can spend hours relaxing and enjoying yourself on the child-friendly sandy beach, or visit Orøstrand Dyrepark and experience the wild animals. If you are looking for a special nature experience, the many hiking routes on the island's footpaths are highly recommended. A trip on the footpaths is a wonderful way to experience Orø's nature and wildlife. If you get hungry along the way, there is a harbor kiosk where you can buy ice cream for small breaks.
See beautiful sculptures in wild nature
Recommended by Carina.
In the protected natural area, Ruslands Bakker, you can experience beautiful sculptures and statues in wild nature. Ruslands Bakker is a hilly heath landscape, overgrown with heather, juniper, and pine trees, which also houses the renowned art museum, Rudolph Tegners Museum. Pack a lunch and enjoy lunch or coffee with the most beautiful view over the hills, or visit Traktørstedet Sørens Café, where you can order delicious sandwich baskets for your trip. Remember to order in good time.
