Rabarbergaarden Farm-to-table: What to see, buy, and experience
Freshly harvested organic vegetables, hyper-local groceries, and food craftsmanship at its best. Rabarbergaarden, with its organic farm, has established itself as a must-visit go-to place on your journey through North Zealand. Here's a guide to what you should experience when you visit Rabarbergaarden.
Dinner in the Orangery

When you visit Rabarbergaarden, it's an obvious choice to visit their restaurant, where you and your companions can enjoy a delicious lunch. Perhaps try their fricassee of organic beef, or rillette of the farm's pork, served with pickled vegetables – all from the farm. Remember to book a table well in advance, so you can be sure to have a seat when you visit the farm. From farm to table is truly the focus when visiting the restaurant.
In the restaurant, you can enjoy delicious food, and on the farm itself, activities are held for all ages.
Visit the climate-friendly grocer
Instead of popping down to the local supermarket, stop by Din Grønne Købmand. Rabarbergaarden has actively chosen to open a grocer that will help promote the area in terms of grocery stores and climate. Here you get local groceries that are not imported from all over the world. You can buy the farm's ready meals, vinegars, preserves, spreads, and whatever else is in season when you visit Rabarbergaarden.
You can also buy local goods that are not specifically from Rabarbergaarden, but flour from Nordsjællands Fællesmølleri, schnapps from Schumacher, cream ice cream from Hansens Is, beer from Det Våde Får and Kløster Øl, and many more. If you need something other than food items, you can also buy beauty products.
Adjacent to Din Grønne Købmand is Rabarbargaarden's Bookshop, where you can buy books about nature, gardening, food in nature, and much more.
Eat your fill at the farm bakery

If you're into sourdough and cold proofing, then Gårdbageriet at Rabarbergaarden is the perfect place for you. Each bread is different and special, especially if you come at different times of the year. It's things like the wild yeast in the air, temperature, and humidity that determine how the bread turns out. The bread is baked with Öland wheat, rye, and emmer, which are ancient grain varieties. They have plenty of flavor and nutrients that you don't necessarily find in more common bakeries.
In the farm shop, you can buy freshly baked bread, cinnamon rolls, or fresh eggs.
Advice and guidance for your home garden
In Rabarbergaarden's garden house, you'll find the plant nursery. There you can spend a fortune on all sorts of small plants, seeds, garden equipment, tools, baskets, and organic sowing and potting soil. Here you can also ask the competent staff for advice on which plants and seeds to buy, as well as how best to maintain your garden.
It is important for Rabarbergaarden that both young and old understand the importance of nature and its animals, and therefore there are ample opportunities to learn about all this when visiting the place. You also have the opportunity to sign up for some of Rabarbergaarden's garden courses. Here you can learn how to get your own organic garden up and running, so you can harvest crops in your backyard yourself. You will receive theory and concrete advice that you can use in your own garden all year round.
You can also sign up for Rabarbergaarden's course on how to use seasonal ingredients and how to learn to make delicious food with these ingredients. It's a great way to get out of your comfort zone when it comes to cooking, as you get to try your hand at some dishes you might not have known before.
Buy a summer vegetable box
If you would like to get organic vegetables all summer, then Rabarbergaarden's summer vegetable box is just for you. It contains freshly harvested vegetables every week throughout the summer, and everything is produced on the farm. All the vegetables have been lovingly cared for by the skilled gardeners who work on site. Depending on the wind and weather, you will receive five to eight different types of greens, as well as some berries and herbs. You must pay for eight boxes at once, which then need to be picked up on eight Fridays during the summer. It is not necessarily you who needs to pick up these vegetable boxes; a friend, partner, or family member can easily do it for you.
Special occasions at Rabarbergaarden
The unique surroundings at Rabarbergaarden make it an ideal place to celebrate special occasions, and your company is no exception. You can enjoy the day in the restaurant or orangery, but also enjoy the farm's beautiful rose garden during the event. What to eat and drink can be arranged.
