When summer holidays arrive, there's finally more time to indulge in food. You can let go of easy and conventional solutions and try new culinary skills in the kitchen. Øer Gårdbutik sells a lot of vegetables, meat and cold cuts from Egåslagteren, specialty goods, and not least, flea market finds. The farm shop also often hosts a range of events such as live music, wine tasting, flea markets, and open grills, where you might sometimes be lucky enough to get a whole roasted suckling pig. Øer Gårdbutik focuses on Danish-produced raw ingredients, whether it's carrots, potatoes, or meat.

You don't need to participate in a dining event at the farm to enjoy its delicacies. Buy a lot of delicious ingredients and cook in the cottage. You can perhaps try your hand at some dishes you've never made before, or make those you otherwise never have time for in the daily grind.

A place for the whole family

Øer Maritime Ferieby is a place that buzzes with community and diversity in the summer. The place is a popular and obvious choice for families with children, as there are activities for all ages. Signe and Ronni have a cottage in the holiday village, and they report on an area where families with children can settle down and enjoy the summer.

Here are all the facilities we, as a family with children, appreciate when we want to have an active and cozy holiday together. At the same time, the cottage is a kind of den for us, where we can be close and present together as a family.

The facilities include a tennis court, where you can swing a racket for the first time, but experienced players can also let loose. There is a new swimming pool with a children's pool, a lap pool, and not least a sauna. It's perfect to jump into the swimming pool on a muggy summer day when the weather isn't quite suitable for a beach visit, but you still need a dip.

There is also a sports hall with badminton, table tennis, padel tennis, and football. There is also the opportunity to go all out in the fitness center when you need to get your heart rate up. When the weather is good, it's also just a matter of using some of the other outdoor facilities such as mini golf and beach volleyball.

If you prefer calmer activities, there is also the opportunity to visit the Tower, where you can get the most beautiful view of the holiday village. Furthermore, there is also a lot of nature around Øer, where you can go for a picnic and spot migratory birds.

Stay for the mature couple

Although Øer Maritime Ferieby is a place where families with children can truly feel at home, it is by no means excluded for the mature couple with or without older children to visit the place. Brian bought his cottage in the holiday village in 2020 and hasn't looked back since. His cottage overlooks the canal, and even though you're in the middle of everything, there's still plenty of privacy. In Brian's cottage, you can enjoy the area's cafe life, but you can also cook in his cozy surroundings, both on the grill and in the kitchen.

There are a lot of exciting facilities and activities all year round, and the area around here must be experienced.

Brian also recommends eating at Café Benjamin and picking up morning bread at the local grocer, who is open every day.

Øer Maritime Ferieby's facilities are for all ages, but if you want to experience more of the local area, Ebeltoft is an obvious choice, as it is only four kilometers away from the area. In Ebeltoft, there is the harbor area with cozy sailing and motorboats that you can enjoy the sight of. You can also take a walk in the town and experience the cozy atmosphere among winding cobblestone streets and old half-timbered houses. Perhaps grab an ice cream or a good lunch while you're there. Explore Maltfabrikken, where there is art, culture, food, and crafts.

Close to Øer Maritime Ferieby is Mols Bjerge, where you can explore the wonderful nature of Djursland. Here you can discover beautiful flowers, grazing cattle, and rare birds of prey. If you go there, visit Agri Bavnehøj, which is the highest point of Mols Bjerge. From there, you get the most beautiful view over Djursland, especially if you visit the place at sunrise or sunset.
