Although there are no high ceilings in the cottage, space is by no means at a premium. There are five bedrooms with two beds in each, spread over the many square meters and two floors. The rooms are characterized by the beautiful old rafters and the first floor has a high ceiling. Nothing is missing in terms of sleeping facilities: there are extra mattresses, extra duvets, bedding and even bathrobes in every room.
The kitchen-dining room is absolutely magical with its barn windows, through which you can experience both sunrises and sunsets over the beautiful views of fields and the sea. The kitchen is a flexible and delightful industrial kitchen where you can easily cook together while seating up to 10-15 people at the oval, mobile dining tables. When the winter nights get cold, the fireplace can be lit and around the coffee table, eight people can easily sit for game nights, puzzles or chats. There are also lovely nooks where you can retreat and read a newspaper by yourself.
Gl. Strandly is located close to the sea, so you can feel the breeze from the water. On the four acres of land there is a bog that attracts exciting birdlife all year round. In the fall, you can experience the black sun almost every evening and in the spring, the nightingale visited for three weeks. The garden around the cottage is filled with perennials and fruit trees, and in the warmer months you can barbecue on the large terrace. Under the parasols you can enjoy both breakfast and dinner with the finest views. The landscape is completely free of traffic and is ideal for jogging or walking your dog - dogs are very welcome at Gl. Strandly.

Our names are Malene and Søren, and our holiday home is called Gl Strandly. We have lived here for 35 years and the place is a real family place. Malene is an artist, and in 2007 we designed and built a small workshop, gallery and new house, which we live in. The small house is very close to the summer house Gl. Strandly, and therefore, as hosts, we are close by if something is missing. We love to invite you in for dinners or afternoon coffee if you want to. We have continuously renovated Gl. Strandly.
We often go to Langør Harbor or Stauns to go kayaking, take long walks in Møgelskår on the North Island and find wild flowers or rent a horse from Rikke Due and go horseback riding on the east side of the island, close to Ballen.
In our own area, we often go to Vesborg Lighthouse along the coast with a fishing rod. A walk in Bratingsborg forest when the ramsons bloom in spring is also always nice. We often swim in Sælvig in the summer and eat herring at restaurant Skippely. I often go on inspiration trips to Molkedesign in Brundby, which is a shop that sells plants, clothes and design.
