An aesthetically pleasing and functional vacation home with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of space for a large family to gather. There are many great recreational activities, such as a pool, a trampoline, and a soccer goal, as well as beautiful walks in the area and to the beach.

The cottage was great, good size for us, well equipped kitchen, very nice bathroom and a nice garden. We’d like to have used the garden more but it was pretty windy during our stay. Everything worked really well. I can warmly recommend this place.

One of the things that made the biggest impression was the tranquility that the house exudes. In fact, the word “tranquility” hardly does justice to the feeling that washes over you the moment you park the car and walk the last stretch down toward the house. Your shoulders relax all on their own. We’d actually planned a lot of excursions, but they never happened. Instead, we spent hours on the terrace enjoying the beautiful view of the fjord, and it turned out to be the best vacation we could have hoped for. A couple of tips for future guests: Keep an eye on Skalldyr Risør’s Facebook page to see when the boat arrives in port. There, you can buy freshly caught crayfish straight from the boat while they’re still piping hot—an experience I highly recommend. Also, do yourself a favor and visit Restaurant Hilda Larsen on Borøya. The Flammkuchen with scallops is absolutely fantastic, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. And if the sun is shining, be sure to reserve a table well in advance—you won’t be the only ones who’ve had that idea.

The vacation home was really nice and in great condition. The location was absolutely perfect, just a few minutes from the beach along quiet paths. The house has been taken over by new owners since the photos were taken. Therefore, not all of the furnishings are as shown in the photos. For example, a daybed that was shown in the photos is missing. The dishwasher broke down during our vacation, which was a bummer.

The vacation home has a truly wonderful atmosphere, tranquility, and charm. It’s incredibly cozy and invites you to connect and spend quality time together. There are really lovely terraces and an outdoor area with both a large lawn and a fire pit. The exterior doors and garden gate are a bit loose, and the floors creak, but that adds to the charm 🤗☀️🥰 The hosts have been incredibly attentive, and we’ve really appreciated the great communication. All in all, a truly wonderful vacation home and some lovely, hospitable hosts—we’d happily recommend this vacation home to others.
