Looking out over the treetops and feeling like you're standing in the middle of a rainforest with birds constantly chirping
A place where you can retreat and enjoy the fresh air all year round
Getting up in the morning, trundling through the greenery and taking a dip in the sea
At the end of a long flight of stairs, at the top of a high hill, is this minimalist and modern Mini House designed by Mette Lange. Here you can enjoy the sensational view of the forest and sea from wherever you are in the house or on the terrace.
The summer house is simple, functional and packed with quality. The family has chosen few but super nice details. Here nothing is superfluous or left to chance, while the cosy cottage atmosphere shines through. The master bedroom offers the most beautiful views from which to read a good book in bed, and the loft provides ample opportunity to retreat and gaze at the stars. The house consists of two houses, a main house and a guest house, with a large wooden terrace connecting them. Here you can enjoy the fine views as well as the sunset, which you can also do from the house's outdoor bath, so far the only shower the family has had use of.
The plot is a natural one with hilly terrain and many steps, so it is not ideal for either the walking-impaired or small children. On the other hand, you can enjoy the embracing feeling of being enveloped by forest and wildlife.
Join the family and start the day with a walk down to the water for a cool dip, followed by a shower before morning coffee on the terrace. The area also offers beautiful scenery with ample opportunities for hiking and running in Sonnerup Forest, on Klintebjerget or in the UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred, which with its varied fjord and coastal landscape, is ideal for cycling enthusiasts. If you are in the mood for an excursion, it is not far to Rørvig's bird sanctuary, plantation or authentic harbour, or Anneberg forest and cultural park, where there is a tanga safari. You can also try your hand at wine tasting at the local winery, Vejrhøj Vingård and Ørnberg Vin.

Karin & Johnny
Host since July 2022
We are a family of five; Johnny and Karin with three adult girls. We built the house two years ago, after selling our old summer house, which was on the other side of the forest. Nowadays we live in the city, so we use the cottage a lot as our breathing space - a little nature shelter. The sea in particular is used extensively, all year round, with winter dips in the shallow water. We also enjoy cycling trips on the country roads, and running/trotting on all the forest trails in the area.
