Hamburg based artist Jan Kruse loves to get away from the bustling city and find inspiration in the vibrant colours of the sea. For a long weekend, he stayed in a Landfolk summer house on the Danish east coast with his family to relax and create art.

Our apartment in Hamburg is quite small, so we always try to find ways to get out of the city and be closer to nature. The atmosphere in a holiday home is so relaxed and I love the calmness you wake up to in the morning.

Being surrounded by nature is a strong source of inspiration for me as an artist. Like the many nuances of blue that are in the ocean. I love to bring that into play in my artworks either portrayed as the ocean or in abstract forms and shapes.
