Log cabin with history by Gjevilvatnet

On the shores of Lake Gjevilvatnet in Oppdal, lies this charming log cabin. The classic main house of the cabin complex has everything you need to take your small family or group of friends on an unforgettable cabin trip at any time of the year. The cabin, with logs and grass on the roof, gives a special atmosphere and makes it a natural part of the surroundings.

The traditional Norwegian cabin atmosphere follows you into the main house, where the timber materials are also prominent. Here, the original wood color has been preserved, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. The pretty windows with small, cute curtains bring in beautiful light and complement the rest of the traditional décor. Enjoy late evenings together in the living room, and let the warmth of the large fireplace embrace you as you relax.

Outside the cabin, you can enjoy breakfast in the morning sun, sunbathe by the cabin wall and barbecue in the evening sun. In the summer you can look across a small lake with waking fish, to a few older farmhouses and grazing animals. Cool off in the outdoor hot tub or let the warmth and bubbles massage your stiff muscles after the day's walk in nature. In winter, you can enjoy the starry sky, perhaps watch the full moon shine, and catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights from the warming bath. (The hot tub can only be hired on request and costs NOK 500 per time).

The area offers many great nature experiences all year round, making the cabin the perfect destination whatever the season. Oppdal is a skier's paradise for those who enjoy a sense of achievement, and the rest of the year you can go on forest and mountain hikes, try your hand at rafting, climbing and cycling or experience a musk ox safari. In Gjevilvatnet, which is just below the cabin, you can go swimming, fishing and boating. The cabin has a canoe, kayak and rowing boat for you to use, so there are plenty of opportunities to explore the beautiful water. Gjevilvasshytta is located near the cabin and is a cozy place where you can buy freshly baked waffles and ice cream.
