Surrounded by gorgeous woodland, this beautiful traditional cottage is set in a beautiful woodland setting. As you enter, you'll be greeted by a cozy atmosphere where wood, stylish black details, traditional cottage furniture and modern design choices come together. The warm, cozy feeling you get when you enter the cottage continues when you enter the living room, where the large sofa corner is designed for fireplace cuddles, games and quiet moments with a good book.

Both the sofa corner and the large dining table have room for the whole extended family, which invites long conversations over a good meal or a glass of wine and board games, or quiet breakfasts where you can drink the first cup of coffee of the day together and wake up at your own pace.

The area offers many great hiking opportunities, summer and winter. Here you can lace up your ski boots and head straight out into the beautiful network of cross-country ski trails, go kayaking, cycling and hiking together. There are plenty of opportunities to vary according to level and age, so that everyone has a great experience on a trip together.

When you return, you can enjoy the sun on the large terrace and light up the fire pit, where you can grill sausages and marshmallows. The terrace is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the fresh mountain air and just take it easy. The cabin is in an undisturbed location, with great views and plenty of sunshine, so you don't need an excuse to just stay in the cabin.

End the day in the sauna and lie down in the lovely, soft beds. Here you can enjoy good, thick down duvets that really invite long mornings in bed before a new day of adventure.

Ski in/ski out: Cross-country skiing trails right outside the cabin.

Ski resorts nearby: approx. 8 min to SkiStar, Norway and approx. 10 min to Trysilfjellet (ski center).

Highlights from Auden

Host since March 2023

  • Put on your skis right outside the cabin door and head out for a ski tour on the fantastic slopes
  • Enjoy the tranquility of the cabin and let the cozy, traditional atmosphere embrace you
  • End the day together in the sauna, where you can enjoy the warmth, each other and good conversation

My name is Auden and we are a family of four, with me, my wife and our two daughters aged 15 and 19. We live in Hamar and try to go to our cabin in Trysil as often as possible - summer and winter. For us, cabin life is a break from everyday life where we can focus on cooking good food, playing board games, firing up the fireplace and enjoying movies and series. In the evening, we like to light up the fireplace and roast marshmallows.

The area around the cabin offers many great nature experiences and in winter the whole family goes skiing, whether it's on the alpine slopes or skiing on the beautiful trails that start right outside the cabin. In the summer, we enjoy hiking to Trysilfjellet, Skurufjellet, Skagsvola and Stardbekkstupet, cycling or canoeing. The cabin is located in a quiet and peaceful cabin area, where you really get close to nature. The birdlife in particular is exciting to watch. We love the combination of being active in the mountains and the peace and quiet we get from being at the cabin.
