Cabin by the Otra with views of a nature reserve

Built in 2017, this cabin sits along the Otra River, with a view of Vidmyr—a protected nature reserve featuring completely untouched wilderness. Here, you'll find both tranquillity and proximity to the mountains, and the sound of the river will accompany you throughout your stay.

The cabin's decorated in warm colours and features high-quality furnishings. The living room has a dining table by Halvor Bakke with two extension leaves—seating 12–14 people around the table. A sideboard, a lamp from Hadeland Glassverk, and chairs from Kartell give the room its character. The kitchen's equipped with tableware from Wik and Walsø. There’s a TV in both the living room and the loft, so adults and children can each choose their own programme. The outdoor area features a fire pit, a large dining table with benches, and space for kubb or bocce. There’s a football goal for those who want to kick the ball around, and the garage is equipped with a barbell and weights. The river right next to the property also offers the opportunity for a swim.

You can put on your walking boots or skis right outside the door and head out onto the trails or into the backcountry. The ski centre's 2.8 km away, and downtown Hovden, with all its amenities, is 3 km away. Nearby, you’ll find walking trails to Galten, Hyttenuten, and Storenos, as well as fishing opportunities in Lislevatn and Mjåvatn.
