Charming Andalusian House in the Genal Valley

This restored farmhouse, with its local chestnut beams, thick stone walls, and original works of art, is one of those homes that stays with you. You can explore 22 hectares of fruit orchards, swim in two pools fed by a natural spring, and hike along historic Moorish trails right from your doorstep.

The ground floor features a kitchen-dining room equipped with a gas oven, dishwasher, full-size fridge, and espresso machine, as well as a wood-burning fireplace. The living room has an open fireplace. There are four bedrooms: one en suite on the ground floor with two single beds, and upstairs, the master bedroom with a balcony, a second bedroom with a balcony overlooking the walnut tree, and a third bedroom with a bunk bed. There's a bathroom upstairs with a shower.

Under the pergola, you'll find the perfect spot for morning coffee or an after-dinner chat. The front terrace invites you to dine al fresco under the walnut tree with panoramic views. On the side, there's another terrace with a keyhole-shaped pool and a restored traditional pool, both fed by spring water. Hammocks, sun loungers and a barbecue round out the outdoor space.

The Genal Valley's a little-known corner of Spain, perfect for whitewashed villages and a leisurely pace. Just a 15-minute drive away, you can hike the river trail with its footbridges along the Genal River. Nearby are Jubrique, where you can enjoy tapas in the town square, and Genalguacil, a charming village known for its art and biennial arts festival, which also offers basket-weaving classes.
