The cottage in Haverdal isn’t the largest, and that’s exactly what gives it its charm. Within 54 well-planned square meters, you live close to nature and to one another, where the sparkling sea is a constant presence through the windows and the wild natural grounds envelop the house like a green embrace.
The two bedrooms are simple and relaxed, with soft curtains instead of doors to preserve the airy feel. The beds have slightly unique dimensions that work well for both adults and children. One bedroom features a bed 120 centimeters wide, while the other is furnished with two bunk beds, each bed 80 centimeters wide. The kitchen is well-equipped but lacks a dishwasher, which leaves time for leisurely conversations at the sink while the door to the courtyard stands open to let in the evening breeze. The bathroom is directly adjacent to the courtyard—a thoughtful architectural detail that enhances the feeling of living close to the outdoors.
Three different outdoor seating areas make it easy to follow the sun throughout the day, always with soothing views of the sea and nature. Wild blueberries grow on the property that you can pick fresh for breakfast, and the harbor—complete with a swimming ladder and dock—is a convenient walk away. A small beach near the cottage is also dog-friendly, and the long Haverdal Beach stretches all the way to Vilshärad, perfect for beautiful beach walks.
As evening approaches, Skalleberget in the area is the perfect spot to settle in and watch the sun go down. The Haverdal Nature Reserve, with its windswept, gnarled pine trees—which the kids love to call the “troll forest”—is well worth a visit. You can grab an ice cream at Margit’s kiosk, which has been spreading summer cheer in the town since 1954, or follow the Kattegattleden bike trail through Haverdal. If you’re looking for a bit more excitement, Halmstad is just a twenty-minute drive away.

My name is Karin, and I own this cottage with my husband, Anders. This place has been in my family for over 40 years, and what I love most is the nature and the proximity to the sea. We rent it out for a few weeks each year and hope you’ll find the same sense of peace here that we always have.
