Hand-hewn log cabin with panoramic views in Gålå

What makes this cabin special is the combination of traditional Norwegian construction techniques, panoramic views of the mountains, and the warm atmosphere inside. The cabin's built from hand-hewn logs following old traditions, with high ceilings and open fireplaces that create both a sense of spaciousness and warmth. There’s plenty of space between the cabins here—more than in many other mountain areas.

Inside, you’ll find a mix of vintage and modern furniture, chosen for its character and comfort. Underfloor heating adds an extra touch of luxury when you come inside after a day outdoors. The open fireplaces are among our favourites—the kitchen fireplace can also be used for cooking, so that preparing dinner becomes part of your evening together.

The spacious plot gets sunlight most of the day, with plenty of room to sit outside, eat together and enjoy the panoramic view. You'll find watching the light move across the mountains a treat in every season.

From Gålå, you can explore Espedalen, Skeikampen, Rondane, and Jotunheimen. Here you'll find birch forests, mountain lakes, high mountains and dramatic peaks—everything from short hikes with picnics to challenging mountain treks. In winter, ski trails start right from the cabin, and the downhill ski slope in Gålå is nearby. Gudbrandsdalen offers traditional farms, log architecture and local culinary traditions worth discovering.

You can bring small dogs into the cabin upon request. Please contact the host for more information.
