Sardinian trachyte stone house in a green valley

Built entirely of Sardinian trachyte stone, this house from the early 1920s makes a striking impression at first glance. The large boulders that make up the walls evoke the rural Sardinian landscape. The restoration preserved the original structure, intervening only where time's taken its toll: lime plaster, new wooden floors, and reclaimed ironwork.

The house has three bedrooms with private bathrooms: two double bedrooms on the mezzanine level—one of which has a loft for children ages 9–10—and one with two single beds on the ground floor. The spacious living room with kitchen's furnished with pieces found in old Sardinian homes. The reclaimed roof tiles, shaped in the traditional “a coscia” style, add an authentic touch.

Outside, a 60-metre covered veranda with wooden beams and Sardinian roof tiles welcomes you outdoors. Just a few metres away, in the middle of a wild meadow covering about 400 m², you'll find the 6×12 m pool and the hot tub. The fenced-in farmyard covers about 3,000 m², surrounded by trees and a lawn; an additional 7,000 m² of uncultivated land completes the property.

The house is located in a remote area: you'll need a car to get there and to get around during your stay. Alghero is about 12 km away, where the Catalan heritage is still evident in the language and architecture of the historic centre. Between a stroll through the city and a day at the local beaches, you can also take a drive to explore Bosa, Stintino, and Castelsardo.
