The cabin owner is 47 years old and has an 11-year-old daughter, and for us, the cabin is a mountain paradise. We use the cabin together all year round and enjoy inviting friends and family. The cabin is a sanctuary where we can relax and spend time together in a different way than we do at home, and it's wonderful to get a break from everyday life. Steintjønn faces west and has the longest sunrise in Vegglifjell and incredibly beautiful sunsets.
The cabin is surrounded by large, unspoiled natural areas that we make good use of during the summer months. In the summer, there are also lots of great swimming and fishing opportunities here, and we love to go hiking or biking. We often go on trips on handcars and bikes along the disused Numdalsbanen railway line, and the opportunity to borrow boats and canoes gives us great opportunities for wonderful experiences together.
In winter, we love to cozy up indoors and spend a lot of time skiing, both cross-country and downhill. It's always nice to enjoy a hot tub in winter after an active day. We often go up to Nordre Veggli at Veggli Ski Center, where we can go downhill skiing and sledding, and there is also a cozy mountain lodge where they serve good food. If we want to ski on bigger slopes, we go to Ulvdal Ski Center, which is about 55 minutes away.
