Just outside Saltum, in Little Norway, as the area is aptly named, this beautiful black-painted cottage with sedum roof is nestled between the dunes at the end of a cul-de-sac. The holiday homes in the area blend in with the golden North Sea nature, and the sound of the waves and wind is omnipresent. It's a long way from the big city.

In the large living room with exposed beams, the whole family can gather for various activities. There are also sea views from the large family room. We are a family of five: mom, dad and three boys.

The summer house has been a big part of our family ever since it was built. It's where we gather several generations, and the large kitchen room has been the setting for many cozy gatherings and game nights.

We enjoy the fact that the cottage is close to both forest and beach. The area is called Little Norway and the Kettrup mountains and the houses here are hidden with their grass roofs on hills and in valleys.

It's easy to go for a swim, then slip back into the house and wash off the salt and sand in the shower on the terrace, followed by cozying up with board games.

If you turn left at the house, you'll reach the forest, and if you turn right, the beach and the North Sea await.

The sky is high and there's plenty of space. Fårup Sommerland is just 5 km from the house and is a big hit for all ages. The seaside towns of Blokhus, Hune and Løkken are also about 5 km away and are great to visit for shopping, a nice lunch or live music.

We loved the cottage. It is bright, friendly and spacious. The living and dining area is cozy and inviting. The bedroom is very large and very nicely furnished. The three other bedrooms are more for "singles" or children. There is no further room with a double bed. But these rooms are also very nicely furnished. The bathroom is a bit small. There were two of us, so it was fine. However, there is a second small bathroom, which belongs to one of the other rooms. The outdoor area invites you to relax. The sea is about 400m over the dunes. We would book this beautiful house from Rikke and Christian again at any time!!!
