This house occupies one of the former blacksmith’s workshops in the village of Guatiza, now converted into an adults-only retreat designed to let you enjoy the slower pace of island life. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in the warm afternoon light and open directly onto a private terrace with seating areas and a heated outdoor hot tub.
Inside, the decor is minimalist, featuring natural materials and details inspired by the architecture of César Manrique. There is no television by design; instead, you’ll find books, music, birdsong, volcanic silence, and a projector for a movie night. The king-size bed, spacious bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and high-speed Wi-Fi are ideal for both a long weekend and a stay of several weeks.
The private terrace features a pergola that provides shade and carefully selected outdoor furniture for reading or relaxing under the Lanzarote sun. This property shares a garden and heated pool with a neighboring house, though each terrace is positioned to offer a genuine sense of privacy and independence.
Worth visiting are Timanfaya National Park, the Jameos del Agua, the Cueva de los Verdes, the Mirador del Río, and the Cactus Garden. The quieter side of Lanzarote includes coastal walks between the Jameos del Agua and Punta Mujeres, family-run wineries in La Geria, a Sunday farmers’ market in Mancha Blanca, and the ferry from Órzola to La Graciosa.

Hi, I'm Darek.
Together with my husband Andrzej, we're the owners of Casitas Santa Rita.
We first came to Lanzarote almost fifteen years ago for a holiday. We had no idea that one day we would call this island home.
We kept coming back. At first once a year. Then twice. Eventually, every chance we had.
With every visit, Lanzarote allowed itself to reveal a little more. Not through famous attractions, but through friendships, quiet villages and countless small moments that slowly changed the way we looked at life. Little by little, what had started as a holiday began to feel like home.
We realised there was another way of living. A quieter, simpler life. Little by little, the island revealed what Otro Mundo had meant all along.
Years later, by pure coincidence, we found an old blacksmith's house in the peaceful village of Guatiza. The property had only been put up for sale a few days earlier.
The house had a soul. From the very first moment we walked through the gate, we knew it was the place we had been looking for.
We decided to leave our old life behind, sold everything we had in Poland and began a completely new chapter.
Over the next few years, we carefully restored the house. The former blacksmith's workshops became two completely independent holiday casitas, each with its own private terrace, designed from the very beginning to offer our guests peace, privacy and a true sense of home. Between them we created a small heated pool and a cactus garden, a quiet place to slow down beneath the Lanzarote sky.
Today we share our home with Tarzan, our rescued dog, our much-loved cats Luna and Igo, and the memories of Coco, who inspired the name of one of our casitas.
We wanted to create the kind of place we ourselves had been looking for during all those years of returning to Lanzarote.
