Open Your Heart to a New Nordic Style Summerhouse in Liseleje

My name is Jacob, and I have had my summer house for 8 years and enjoy it together with my son Oliver and my girlfriend. I have traveled a lot in different parts of the world and have lived and worked abroad as a Danish diplomat, including in Vietnam for 3 years and in Mexico for 4 years, but I grew up here at Liseleje beach.

The lovely beach, the sea, the dunes, the forest and fields, the beautiful nature, means something very special to me. Here is peace, quiet and time and space for presence, family and friends.

I spend a lot of time in nature myself; hiking, running, cycling, swimming - doing ultra races in the forest and mountains - but I also enjoy books and the peace and quiet in the house. If you are interested in nature and hiking, running or cycling routes, I have great recommendations and also great books about the area that I would love to share. I know all the small unique paths and beautiful places on the beach, fields and in the forest from Lynæs, Kikhavn, Hundested to Liseleje, Tisvildeleje and Tisvilde Hegn etc.

The cottage is located in Liseleje (postcode Melby). If you come by car from the small idyllic village of Melby (there is also a train to Melby), you drive out of Melby, past Liseleje Camping, on across the fields 1 km towards Liseleje and the beach, and then you come to the beautiful cottage and nature area that surrounds the old fishing village of Liseleje, which today is a charming little seaside resort with ice house, local grocery store, seaside hotel, fish shop, cafes, small specialty shops and eateries.

The holiday home is located in this beautiful natural area on a small closed gravel road, approx. 1200 meters from one of Denmark's most beautiful beaches. If you go for a morning run, you can take a dip after 5-6 minutes and then buy warm bread on the way back from the small bakery in Liseleje 😉 or grab a coffee in the sun in the garden at the small seaside hotel and enjoy the atmosphere. Or enjoy the sunset and an ice cream after a beautiful day at the beach and grab some delicious food to take home from the beach café Haveje (also vegetarian).

The beach, dunes, fields and forest are also ideal for families with children. There is a large natural playground, Havtyren, close to the beach for children (0-12 years), activities at the beach café Haveje, and plenty of opportunities and activities in the area with visiting farms and much more.

The large old cottage garden is also great for children. There are croquet games and football etc. There is a cave between the huge and 4 meter high rhododendron bushes in one corner of the garden and we have a lovely 4-person tent that can be set up and played in on the lawn under the large beautiful 60-year-old walnut tree or you can sleep in the tent and enjoy the silence and the starry sky. The garden's beautiful wooden pavilion at the edge of the walnut bushes can also be used for playing and reading, as well as for coffee and an afternoon nap in the shade.

Here is incredibly beautiful nature, a stunningly beautiful beach, sea, dunes, forest and heathland. The large, beautiful and sunny garden is often home to deer, squirrels, pheasants and birds, and there is sun in the garden and on the terrace until the sun goes down and fantastic days and evenings with peace, sun and starry nights.

I have continuously renovated the cottage and decorated it the way I like it. It's bright, modern Nordic, with large windows and rooms that can be opened up to the old cottage garden, so that inside and outside flow together. This applies to the kitchen, living room and bedroom. The bathroom is new with underfloor heating, a wall-hung toilet and handmade wall tiles.

The cottage is insulated and warm all year round.
