The home and garden is a fantastic space. There were so many places to chill, relax, spend time with others and time apart, as desired.
The house decor is fun, funky, eclectic. A mix of modern, retro, old, reclaimed and new.
The kitchen is well-laid out and supplied. We ended up making our own evening meals and had everything we needed to do so. The bedrooms and bathrooms had everything we needed with extra supplies available when needed.
The garden has lots well-tended flowers, plants and trees. There were areas for doing things like sitting, swinging, laundry, hot-tubbing, grilling, eating, parking, looking out over the hills and sea.
We watched the sunset every night.
We went to Caccamo for our groceries. Getting used to local opening times and what to get where was very different to what we are used to. With a little knowledge of Italian on our part and some English, the locals were able to accommodate our needs.
We went to Trabia, Cefalu, Palermo, Parco Avventura Madonie and Santo Stefano di Camastra. Some driving was more challenging than others. The main road in Caccamo, which dates from medieval times I'm sure, accomodates one vehicle wide in places. It isn't for the faint of heart. Palermo driving is slow. The highway to Santo Stefano has many tunnels.
Bruno was attentive for any question or need that we had. He communicated with us ahead of time and was at the home to greet us when we arrived. As things work quite differently here than what we are used to, he went through it with us. Drinking water - get bottled, hot water - take short showers, rubbish - separated into different bins for recycling, etc. Two doors and three windows had fly screens on them, which was helpful as mosquitos were about.
We also asked Bruno about local festivals and he sent us suggestions.
