Charming thatched house with forest and orangery

Welcome to "Fattighuset" - our lovely thatched half-timbered house from 1657. We bought the house and the associated forest in 2020, an old dream that finally came true for us. Over the past 4 years, we have renovated the house so that the interior is modern with underfloor heating, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, entrance and living room with vaulted ceiling. The house is furnished with 2 good bedrooms, and there are 2 lofts located upstairs with access from the living room.

The home is an ideal vacation spot for 2-4 adults and a couple of older children who want to sleep in the loft. The second loft is furnished with a desk.

We love winter in our house. The long dark evenings are especially enjoyed in front of the wood stove. We have split plenty of firewood from our forest, which our guests are free to use during their stay in the house. We often play a board game or read a good book. Outside, we cozy up by the outdoor fireplace with marshmallows or outdoor cooking. In our forest across the road, children can play freely in the woods while adults can enjoy a cup of coffee in our orangery, or sit and warm themselves by the fire from the fire pit.

In the summer you can pick berries and fruits in our orchard, as well as some greenery from the orangery. There are plenty of strawberries that are just right for a mouthful 😊

There's a large lawn to play a small game of soccer, petanque or perhaps the game of kings. And of course, you can also enjoy the fire pits and explore the forest. Maybe a small deer will come by, or a hare.

If you like hiking or cycling, take the 3km to Gravlev and follow the old railroad path towards Ebeltoft. After a few kilometers you'll come to the back of Ree Park Zoo, where several of the wild animals can be seen for free.

Ebeltoft is about 15km from Fuglslev and is always worth a visit, with the old town hall, the frigate Jylland, and the glass museum.
