Glænø is located in the Småland waters southwest of Zealand. A scenic and protected gem of an island, where you will find this charming, old thatched half-timbered house. It is located in the middle of the island with a view of fields, a few sheep and blue skies. Here you can get the feeling of having it all to yourself, far away from the noise, shops and hustle and bustle of the city.
The cottage dates from 1780 and is full of details: Here are sloping walls, lots of coziness under the low ceilings and small nooks, crooked angles and a beautiful ladder staircase that leads through the door frame up to the bedroom under the roof. All of this bears witness to the long history of the house and provides an atmospheric setting for your time on the island.
On Glænø you can go for good walks that will give you fresh red cheeks, in the bird sanctuary, on the clove, over the hills and in the large, expansive meadows. On the south coast of the island there are good bathing beaches, where dramatic cliffs fall beautifully down to the blue water. Here you can often be lucky enough to have it almost to yourselves.

Enjoy the tranquillity of the protected island of Glænø, beautifully situated on the Småland Sea
Let yourself be charmed by the beautiful thatched house from 1780, which offers lots of coziness and quirky details
Explore Glænø's varied and wonderful nature with steep cliffs, unspoiled beaches and bird sanctuary
For us, the cottage is a haven where time stands still and shoulders slump. The house is from 1780 so it is an older and charming lady. We come here at all times of the year both in the cold months where we enjoy the roar of the wood stove and the peace and quiet the winter brings with it as well as spring and summer when the house is opened up and the garden becomes an extra room filled with all the most beautiful things from nature.
Glænø is a small, protected island with lots of nature and wildlife. There are no street lamps, kiosks or cafés, and we love that. When we need to shop or need a little life, we either go to Bisserup and pick up fresh fish at the harbor from the local fisherman, Lars Birger, have lunch at Fiskebaren or grab an ice cream. Otherwise, we drive to the charming market town of Skælskør. Not far away is Kobækstrand, a beautiful area perfect for long walks and beach days. Karrebæksminde is also worth a visit.

Nanna gave us a warm and personal welcome, and she even arranged for help to put our dinghy in the water.
The house is beautifully situated together with a few neighboring houses under large beautiful old trees. From the terrace, there are unobstructed views of fields and the open sky.
Inside, the many rooms are cozy with low ceilings, which was the standard of the time. The house is fully equipped with everything a modern life could wish for.
