Green as far as the eye can see, the lake on your doorstep, and the North Sea coast just 30 minutes away—that's what awaits you on your vacation in this enchanting apartment in the East Frisian village of Friedeburg. Built in 1872 and restored in 2020/2021, it is part of a former forester's lodge, which contains five other apartments that are accessible via the same entrance.
Your temporary home offers a skilful blend of romantic country charm and industrial chic. Located in the attic, the color scheme envelops you in elegant shades of gray, blue, and pink. The sloping ceilings and windows, as well as the French balcony, add an extra touch of charm. With a view of the forest and the lake, you can finally relax here to the sound of birdsong.
The open-plan living and dining area creates a spacious feel and offers plenty of opportunities to unwind with a lounge sofa that can also be converted into a sofa bed and two large armchairs. The stylishly designed country-style kitchen is equipped with everything you need to whip up your own delicacies. The apartment is complemented by a bedroom with a large box-spring bed for two people, which is also located under cozy sloping ceilings, and a modern bathroom with a washbasin and rain shower.
The East Frisia region is diverse. Spend time in nature, whether in the Karl-Georgs-Forst forest or by the lake, or take a trip to one of the surrounding towns and explore the culture and way of life. Either way, the motto here is: leave everyday life behind and take a break.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you're bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

Highlights from Yvonne
Host since June 2023
- Romantic charm paired with industrial chic make this apartment a stylish place to feel at home.
- The French balcony offers a direct view of the forest and lake, bringing nature into the house.
- The private lake and the adjacent Karl-Georgs-Forst forest, owned by the Counts of Wedel, are ideal for swimming and long walks.
I am Yvonne, the hostess at this beautiful former forester's lodge. As a trained chef and business administrator for the hotel and catering industry, our guests are particularly close to my heart. After working in many places at home and abroad for over ten years, I felt drawn back to my homeland. I missed the northern German mentality, the "Schnack" (chatter), the food, and the family. With the forester's lodge and its six apartments, I am very close to realizing my dream of owning my own small hotel, as I accompanied and helped build it during the development process. I especially love the history that lives in the house, the forest and the lake on the doorstep, and the serenity that this place exudes.
