Cozy timber cabin with views over the landscape

From the house, you can look out over the fields toward the forest, the mountains, and the Österdalälven River. You'll be staying in an authentic log cabin on a Dala farmstead consisting of six buildings made of weathered log. We've completely renovated the house in 2024 with great care and using locally sourced materials, preserving its authentic character while incorporating modern details that provide comfort and a refined hotel-like atmosphere.

As you step inside, the entryway opens up to the sitting room and dining area, with the fireplace serving as a cosy focal point. The custom-built kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and socialising. The spacious bedroom features a double bed; in a small, private nook, there’s a single bed; and in the living room, there’s a new sofa bed that you can easily screen off with a curtain to create a more secluded sleeping area.

The farm’s 1,800-square-metre garden surrounds you with a sense of freedom and space against the landscape, and under the covered patio you can enjoy coffee and barbecue whatever the weather. The large forest begins just around the corner, and only a five-minute walk away is the river—perfect for a swim or a moment by the water.

The quiet village of Ullvi exudes a harmonious tranquillity, with a village road winding its way through. It's an eight-minute drive to the centre of Leksand, where you'll find unique shops and restaurants, as well as Naturum Dalarna with its 32-metre-high observation tower. Around Lake Siljan, nature, culture and crafts await – but your stay's just as much about staying home, lighting a fire and recharging your batteries as the light shifts across the landscape.
