Cabin with views over Hvaler archipelago

We’re a family from Oslo—two adults and three teenagers—who’ve found our vacation paradise in Torsnes, just outside Fredrikstad.

We love the contrasts this place offers—lazy days filled with sunshine, swimming, and long meals on the terrace, combined with active days of stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and boat trips in the archipelago. At the same time, we really appreciate that Gamlebyen, with its cozy cafes, restaurants, and activities in Fredrikstad, is just a short trip away.

At Torsnes, you’ll be staying right on the water’s edge of the Hvaler archipelago, yet with a peace and quiet that’s becoming increasingly hard to find along the Oslo Fjord. Here, the pace is slower, there’s less traffic, and nature is always close by. The cabin is located at the end of a dead-end road, and with the dock, swimming spot, and the sea just a few meters away, the proximity to the water feels truly special. Refsahlholmen is a scenic, well-established, and peaceful cabin community—a hidden gem that many are unaware of, even though it lies in the heart of some of the most beautiful archipelago scenery the Oslo Fjord has to offer.

It was precisely this combination that made us fall in love with the place: the proximity to the sea, the quiet location, and the feeling of having discovered a little corner of the archipelago that still feels authentic and undiscovered. We hope our guests will experience the same tranquility, freedom, and vacation feeling that we do every time we come here.
