Summer houses both kids and grownups will love
222 m²
In atmospheric Rørvig, you will find the architectural and modern wooden summer house that carries a remarkable and present history with it. Like most other holiday homes in the area, the house has been family-owned for several generations. This creates a very special and cozy atmosphere with close relationships characterized by togetherness and community.
The house lives well with many people, and with a total of 12 beds, there is room for the whole family. The layout of the house therefore takes into account the need to be together and create space for the community, but also to be able to withdraw. In the common room, you can gather around the kitchen island where you can all cook and enjoy each other's company. Similarly, the large terrace, long table and large sofa invite long conversations into the evening. Whether it's over a good meal, a glass of wine or two, tea or treats in front of the fireplace, the cottage is the perfect setting for family togetherness. The bedrooms have their own access to the terrace, where you can retreat outside to a covered and secluded cozy nook. Here you'll also find ladders leading up to a private loft, where you can curl up with a good book and gaze out at the starry sky through the skylights.
If you're into creative projects and play, the workshop is designed for both small and large projects, where you'll find creative materials and large blackboards in the hallways. Here there is room to let your thoughts run free and immerse yourself in contemplation. On the beautiful grounds of the house, there is a pyramid of tree stumps and a suspended rope ladder, a swing and a slack line, and soon a parkour course will be built. So unleash your inner child and enjoy the house's many outdoor activities and competitions, from sup boards, garden games, table football and table tennis to board games. If you're looking for a workout or mental recharge, the house offers exercise mats, weights and other equipment.
Hop on one of the house's bikes and discover the beautiful nature area and the beautiful beach just five minutes away, where you can take a cool and refreshing dip. Alternatively, take a trip to Rørvig where you can lie on your belly on the pier and catch crabs, buy fresh fish from the fishmonger or have an ice cream at the harbor and watch the sunset. To top it all off, Rørvig offers unique nature with lots of beautiful natural gems. So put on your walking shoes and discover beautiful Dybesø or go for a walk at Korshage.

I am educated in the USA in visual communication and have worked with branding and visual identities for many years. I live in Copenhagen with my three children, now aged 12, 15 and 18, and about 7 years ago I took over the house from my father. There were many thoughts about what to do with the house, as there are many m2 and time is already running fast with everyday needs and considerations that need to be taken care of. The ties to Rørvig have always been strong, especially when I lived abroad, and the place has become a part of the children.
I therefore chose to follow a vision that is still taking shape: With nature at the doorstep, the house should be a place with room for creativity, innovation, contemplation and togetherness. Here you can think freely and thoughtfully in a comfortable environment, and ideas can be drawn on large boards and tested in the workshop. Over the years, I've changed the layout to make it as suitable for project groups and retreats as it is for multi-generational families. On the walls are posters, photos and anecdotes of the family history from 1937, which is also a historical time travel and a story of Rørvig culture.
When we're up here, whether it's for a shorter or longer period of time, the first thing we do is walk or cycle to the sea. Take a bath in the outdoor shower. Drink espresso in the morning sun. Eat ice cream at the ferry kiosk and light up the fireplace. In the summer, the kids go sailing at the sailing club, or we take the SUP boards in the car to the fjord on a calm day, or to Telegrafvej if the waves are tempting. This is also where we make projects. We chop wood, saw and hammer nails, paint on stone, cardboard or eggs. We bake in the kitchen and play table tennis on the terrace. We are here on our own, or we have extended family, friends staying overnight or neighbors dropping by. We are country people all year round, and we are happy to share our sanctuary with others.
