Scenic area and beautiful beach in atmospheric Rørvig
My three children, aged 12, 16 and 19, and I live in a townhouse in Nordhavn. If we need a break from city life, we go to Rørvig.
Up here we find peace and can breathe a little freer. Here we do as little as possible or think bigger thoughts. There's plenty of space to be alone or close together with others. History is alive here with my grandmother's old china, my grandfather's old cupboards, and with anecdotes and photos on the walls. The old in the newer setting gives the house a special atmosphere. For us, it's not just a family history of almost 90 years, but also a historical time travel and a story about Rørvig.
When we land up here, the first thing we do is cycle to the sea. Take a bath in the outdoor shower. Drink espresso in the morning sun, eat ice cream at the ferry kiosk and light the fireplace. We spread out in the kitchen and play table tennis or badminton outside. Just like I did as a child - it just belongs in Rørvig. We are country dwellers all year round and are happy to share our sanctuary with others.
