The perfect vacation atmosphere for a Danish summer—the place allowed us to really unwind, with its lovely terrace, private, enclosed garden, comfortable beds, and short walk to the water and a swimming spot.

We had a fantastic stay at Sjællands Odde. The house is spacious, bright, and very clean. It has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The nature, the peace and quiet, and the nearby sea—the surroundings are beautiful. We went on some lovely walks, and the dog had a great time swimming in the sea.

A very nice and interesting split-level house on a lakeside lot with 2 bathrooms. One of them, however, has no shower. The charming 1950s decor has been marred in some places by random stylistic inconsistencies. The master bedroom facing the lake couldn’t be darkened. This isn’t ideal for everyone, especially since the lake reflects light quite a bit and the motion detectors tend to go off at night. The kitchen isn’t particularly functional. It lacked basic items like a kettle for tea drinkers—there was only a strange version of an espresso machine, no drip coffee maker, and no French press. There’s room for improvement here, but I’m sure that can be fixed quickly. This might sound negative, but a property in this price range thrives on guests actually enjoying their time there—not just being on the go.

We would have liked to give a completely positive review. Such as the sea view, the cosy and well-equipped kitchen, the dayroom with the glass roof and the presence of a washing machine and dryer. Furthermore, the bathroom was very clean, and the garden furniture and outdoor kitchen were great. Unfortunately, a number of issues negatively affected my our experience. 1. Dirt in the house: During our stay, we noticed that the house was not clean. There was dust under the sofa, and it was not clean under the beds either. Additionally, we discovered that there was still clothing and other items in the closets, which gave the impression that the house had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. For instance, we had to empty the closets first in order to put our clothes in them. 2. Beach on the doorstep: The beach depicted on your website is a sandy beach. However, upon our arrival, it turned out to be a stony beach, making it difficult to walk and enjoy the surroundings. 3. Damaged boats: Both boats, the canoe and the fishing boat, that we were able to use were broken. This significantly limited our recreational options. 4. Problems with the kitchen appliances: The refrigerator was leaking water and the freezer was still full of food, which was quite unpleasant. Therefore we only could use one of the two drawers. The dishwashers filter was very dirty (We had to clean it first because otherwise it did not work properly) and the soap dispenser lid did not open during the wash cycle. Unfortunately, it still did not perform adequately afterwards, and we had to rinse the cutlery by hand after washing. I hope this review ensures that these shortcomings are addressed and that tenants after us will have a different (even better) experience.

The cottage was very nice and had everything we needed. It had been carefully renovated without going overboard, and they had preserved the house’s charm. The surroundings were beautiful and well-maintained. The dock with the sauna was a nice bonus.

You’re greeted by the most charming house, and the style was consistent throughout. We arrived under bright sunshine, which was the icing on the cake. The water was wonderfully close by, and the dog took regular dips, so the stay was pure bliss for both two- and four-legged guests. The seventh bed was, somewhat amusingly, all the way out under the roof, and you have to be prepared to squeeze in—so the house is really only ideal for 6 people.
