Mountain cabins

The vacation home definitely has its highlights: the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and dining area and the view are truly breathtaking. The floor plan is also very well designed, and the fully fenced-in property is perfect—especially with a dog. Unfortunately, however, there were some issues that significantly dampened our enjoyment of the house. Above all, there was a lack of storage space almost everywhere. In the kitchen, the cabinets, drawers, and about a third of the refrigerator were filled with food left by the previous guests—some of which had expired as far back as 2022. We had to clear out a drawer ourselves just to store our own groceries. It was a similar situation in the bedroom and bathroom: Almost all the cabinets and drawers were filled with the owners’ personal belongings. Unfortunately, that doesn’t exactly make you feel at home. The cleanliness in the kitchen could also have been much better. There were crumbs and food scraps in the sink and in the drawers; the oven was heavily soiled and had large blackened areas or baked-on residue on the inside. To us, this didn’t seem like something that couldn’t be cleaned, but rather as if a thorough cleaning hadn’t been done in a long time. The iron-rich water we’d been warned about was also much more pronounced than what we’ve experienced at other accommodations. It had a strong odor while showering and visibly discolored the water in our dog’s bowl after standing for just a short time. Since a filtration system is in place, we would have expected appropriate maintenance or a filter change. A beautifully situated house with a great view and lots of potential—but a little more preparation for guests, available storage space, and maintenance of the water filter would make a huge difference in helping guests feel truly at home.

We had a wonderful weekend at the cabin, even though it rained pretty much the whole time. The cabin was big enough for the whole extended family, and we had plenty of room to run around. The surroundings were beautiful, and the cabin was located in a peaceful area. The host responded quickly and was flexible and friendly to work with. I highly recommend this place!

We were looking forward to a wonderful stay. It far exceeded our expectations :-) We’re already missing the surroundings and the absolutely amazing accommodations. You can tell a lot of love went into this place—creating fantastic experiences. A lovely terrace with a view of the mountains, a campfire pit, and a sauna. The cabin itself was just as wonderful—in addition to the regular heating, there was a small stove to make things even cozier. A beautifully equipped kitchen and a lovely dining area with a fantastic view. Thank you so much!!

We spent nine wonderful days at Kari-Anne’s house and were 100% satisfied. Check-in was easy and flexible, and Kari-Anne was very helpful at all times. The property, with its boathouses, is located in a unique island setting with direct access to the water and its own dock. The historic building has been restored with great care and taste. The attention to detail and historical references create an incomparable atmosphere in which we felt right at home. The modern, high-quality renovated bathroom blends beautifully with the historic ambience. Shopping is about a ten-minute drive away. There is no bathtub or dishwasher—but we didn’t miss either of them at any point. The authentic historic kitchen with its old appliances was actually the highlight for us. A very special place to escape everyday life in a unique setting. We would come back anytime!

Villa Isabella was a dreamy place to stay, very close to Perugia. We were there at the end of August, and the weather was wonderful. We didn’t even need the air conditioning, which is available in three of the five bedrooms. The villa has plenty of space outside the many bedrooms as well. There are so many beautiful terraces and places to sit that you can always find a quiet spot to relax. Right from the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed by Isabella and Andrea, we immediately felt right at home. They are incredibly helpful and were always quick to respond to any questions we had! Inside the house, all the essentials were already there to get us started on our vacation. So we didn’t have to rush out to go shopping right away!

A really lovely cabin in a great location in a beautiful area! The cabin owner gave us helpful hiking tips, and there are many great hiking opportunities right nearby! We went there on a girls’ trip (6 people) and had an impeccable stay. Clean and tidy, and a well-equipped cabin—an extra plus with a sauna and a swimming spot nearby. I would definitely recommend this place to others who want to explore this part of the Norwegian mountains!
