We bought this beautiful, quiet spot in 2025 from my parents as we enjoy having a holiday home in the area and love the peace and quiet of Nakkehage.
The plot itself is not that big, and most people who come here are either locals who want to enjoy the nature and silence, or anglers. All year round, you can enjoy having the beach to yourself when walking or swimming.
The cottage was built in 1965 and is pretty much as it was then. We've put on a new roof and at the same time installed a large skylight with a motor and automatic blind over the kitchen. It gives the most beautiful light to the living room and kitchen!
It's mostly us with children who use the cottage, so it's designed to accommodate children and dogs (but no other pets).
The area invites you to experience nature, tranquillity and contemplation. There are no shops nearby - it's 5 km to Rørvig and 6.5 km by bike or on foot to Nykøbing via Hov Vig Nature Reserve.
There is abundant wildlife on the property, which is 100 meters from the water's edge. From the living room you can see squirrels, roe deer, pheasants and much more wildlife moving undisturbed just outside the windows. Part of the 2500 m² plot is fenced off so that the wildlife is not disturbed by visiting dogs. The previous owners of the cottage cared deeply about plants and wildlife and have preserved a small grove of rare plants and insects at the far end of the house.
For us, the cottage provides quality of life and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We love the beach at Nakkehage, where we swim and catch crabs from the jetty. The beach has undergone nature restoration and is now beautiful and inviting with flowers and rich wildlife. We go for walks in Hov Vig Nature Reserve with bird tower and boathouse, in Nakke Forest and on the Isefjord Trail that runs along the coast.
In Rørvig, there are crabbing opportunities for children and good places to eat.
We also love to visit the long, white sandy beaches with dunes facing the Kattegat and Sejerøbugten and the dramatic cliffs at Klint.
