My name is Elisabeth and we built the cabin in 2022. Before that, we rented a cabin in the same area for 24 years.
For my family, vacations in Oppheimsåsen and the surrounding mountains have given us the best nature experiences in summer and winter.
In the summer there are great hiking trails in the area, cycling paths, beautiful mountain lakes and fantastic mountain and summit hikes. Here we enjoy our morning coffee at Steintjønna in the hope of catching a juicy trout and swim in the water at sunset. In winter, there are endless cross-country skiing trails and the ski track is right outside the cabin door. For those who like alpine skiing, the slopes in Hemsedal and Geilo are about 45 minutes away and Ål Ski Center 30 minutes. Ål municipality is located midway between Oslo and Bergen and a 2-hour drive to Lærdal and the beautiful Sognefjord.
