Simple Scandinavian style near the beach

Welcome to our old summer house, which is located on a quiet cul-de-sac, only a 2-3 minute walk from the sea. It is what you would call a classic summer house, well-maintained and cozy. For us, it is also the history that makes it special. It began in the late 1940s, when the family who owned Randers Møbelfabrik bought the plot in exchange for a sofa and a dining table. Since then, each generation has left its mark on the cottage, extending and modernizing it over the years. From the original small lattice windows to the 1960s, when large open glass surfaces were all the rage, to today, where we think we have found a reasonable compromise. We are the third generation and have renovated the kitchen and bathroom and added an annex for our children and grandchildren. The little children playing in the house today are the fifth generation. The families with children are here alone, or we are here alone, and sometimes we are all here. We always take daily trips to the beach, either to walk or run, play, buy ice cream at the ice cream parlor, or fish with the old fishermen.

We also love cycling along the coast to the protected areas, the troll forest or to Bønnerup to catch fish. We enjoy mushroom picking in the large forests nearby. The impressive cliffs from the Ice Age at Gjerrild Strand and the old manor houses Sostrup, Mejlgaard and Løvenholm are also always worth a visit. And for the young at heart, Djurs Sommerland is only a quarter of an hour's drive away.
