Our names are Håkon and Karine and we live in Trondheim. We bought our dream plot on beautiful Stokkøya in 2015 and spent about three years designing the cabin in collaboration with the skilled architects from Fur Arkitekter. The cabin was completed in the summer of 2019 and has been carefully positioned in the surrounding landscape to take the best possible care of the rock formation that surrounds the cabin. "When we started the actual construction, it was important for us to choose local craftsmen who know the terrain and climate well. Among other things, this has meant that the cabin has a warm and comfortable outdoor space with a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
The combination of wild and beautiful nature, and really being able to find peace and quiet here, is something that means a lot to us - and being able to enjoy the beautiful view in all kinds of weather gives us an extra sense of taking a break here. The cabin is close to both the sea and the mountains, which we use often. In the summer, we often visit Stokkøya Strandbar, where we are served delicious food and drinks and enjoy days at sea when the weather permits.
