Urban flair in holiday flat near Lake Chiemsee

In Chiemgau, Bavaria presents itself as a place of longing with a unique charm. Wide fields and deep green forests lead to the gentle shores of Lake Chiemsee, from where spectacular views of the Alps open up. Just a few kilometers away is the modern wooden architect's house on the edge of a historic farm.

In the vacation apartment on the first floor, tradition meets modern design and a touch of originality. The furnishings are a lovingly selected mix of custom-made furniture made of wood and iron and traditional pieces: The original Barcelona chair in the living room, for example, provides a great contrast to the restored Bavarian farmhouse table in the eat-in kitchen. The furnishings are complemented by contemporary art; a particular highlight is the wall painted by Christian in one of the bedrooms, which depicts local animals.

If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of some of these animals through the floor-to-ceiling windows, which flood the entire apartment with natural light. You have a view of the garden and fields as far as the horizon from the bench in the living room or from one of the two terraces. You can enjoy the sun at any time of day and have plenty of space for yoga or a cozy get-together. Meanwhile, children can let off steam in the garden, climb the fruit trees or pick berries.
