Nordic lakehouse on private island near Stavanger

You'll be staying on a private islet in the middle of Lake Lutsivatnet, just 25 minutes from Stavanger. You'll reach it via a five-minute boat ride that marks your transition into peace and quiet. On the islet, a modern, architect-designed cabin awaits, featuring large panoramic windows facing the water and a suspended wood-burning stove in the centre of the living room.

The main building features an open floor plan between the kitchen and living room, with stunning views of Lake Lutsivatnet and the mountains in nearly every direction. Three separate bedroom annexes can accommodate six guests: two double rooms with private bathrooms and one cosy room with bunk beds. We've designed everything with simplicity and natural materials in mind.

Terraces and lawns stretch towards the water all around the house. Here you’ll find a wood-fired sauna, a wood-fired hot tub and an outdoor shower. The entire islet's yours, with no neighbours or traffic.

You'll row the approximately 300 metres to the cabin yourself—a short and peaceful 5–8-minute trip where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the water before you arrive. No rowing experience is necessary, but you should be in generally good physical condition.

The cities of Stavanger and Sandnes, as well as the international airport, are all within easy reach—while the surrounding area offers hiking in the woods and mountains. In the summer, you can swim, paddle, and enjoy long evenings outdoors. Lutsi Lakehouse is a place where you can slow down and experience Norwegian cabin life in a truly special way.
