We are an active family with many irons in the fire, so the cabin has become a place where we find our resting pulse. The resting pulse kicks in as we wind our way up the final slopes to the cabin. Here we have a gathering point for the whole family and friends.
The cabin is relatively large, but not too big for just the two of us to enjoy a weekend. Still, it's big enough for 11 of us to spend Easter together, with all the fun that goes with it. We really love our cabin and the lovely mountain that surrounds it. You can see mountains as far as the eye can see and being up here gives you a peace of mind that is unique.
In winter, trails are groomed for miles around. We can walk out the door with skis on our feet. Small children can enjoy the slalom slope at Tempelseter, while older children can be driven to Norefjell in 30 minutes. There is a great ski resort and further cross-country skiing trails.
In the fall and summer, we like to hike in the mountains. Or cycling on the bike paths, or in the terrain. The mountain lodge at Tempelseter (which you can drive to) or Fiskeløysingen (which you can ski to) serves food and drink in a good atmosphere. You can cool off in small lakes and streams in the summer. Or you can drive down the mountain 30 minutes to a lovely sandy beach at Sandsbråten, or swim in the river at Kvennaberg with its bumps and the mountain as a waterslide.
