Imagine waking up and the first thing you hear is the gentle sound of the waves. This vacation home is located directly behind the dyke on the car-free island of Hiddensee. Designed by renowned architect Thomas Kröger, this unique house offers a perfect blend of typical island construction and Japanese architecture.
The house offers an ingenious floor plan that guarantees both an experience of the surroundings and protection from the coastal weather. It ensures a harmonious interplay of indoor and outdoor space with the large window front facing west and the natural grounds. The impressive roof structure, which is open right up to the ridge, shelters the open-plan living area with kitchen and wood-burning stove. The generous staircase in the center of the house elegantly connects the two floors and at the same time becomes a seating sculpture with a view of the garden. Bunk beds and bathrooms surround the staircase on the first floor and offer space for two families or 8 people.
Outside is a large natural garden that is constantly being landscaped - perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.
Hiddensee has a lot to offer: From walks to the lighthouse with a view over the Baltic Sea, a swim in the fresh waves of the sea, to bike tours to the south of the island, reminiscent of Swedish forests. The original villages of Grieben and Neuendorf are well worth a visit and are reminiscent of the simple life of times gone by.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you're bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

Feel at one with nature in the large garden with flower field and by the sea
Hello, we are Catrin and Guido. Catrin is a landscape architect and floral designer and has founded her own design studio. Her small studio is also located on the property. Guido is a natural scientist and managing director. A house on the water for our family and friends has long been a dream of ours. Inspired by a visit to a house on the island of Møn in Denmark, we decided to have a new house built with a novel floor plan concept. We are looking forward to sharing this special place with you.
