Unique beach house on Hiddensee

Imagine waking up and the first thing you hear is the gentle sound of the waves. This vacation home is located directly behind the dyke on the car-free island of Hiddensee. Designed by renowned architect Thomas Kröger, this unique house offers a perfect blend of typical island construction and Japanese architecture.

The house offers an ingenious floor plan that guarantees both an experience of the surroundings and protection from the coastal weather. It ensures a harmonious interplay of indoor and outdoor space with the large window front facing west and the natural grounds. The impressive roof structure, which is open right up to the ridge, shelters the open-plan living area with kitchen and wood-burning stove. The generous staircase in the center of the house elegantly connects the two floors and at the same time becomes a seating sculpture with a view of the garden. Bunk beds and bathrooms surround the staircase on the first floor and offer space for two families or 8 people.

Outside is a large natural garden that is constantly being landscaped - perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.

Hiddensee has a lot to offer: From walks to the lighthouse with a view over the Baltic Sea, a swim in the fresh waves of the sea, to bike tours to the south of the island, reminiscent of Swedish forests. The original villages of Grieben and Neuendorf are well worth a visit and are reminiscent of the simple life of times gone by.
