You'll sleep well and wake up refreshed for adventures in the mountains.
The fact that it is possible to walk out the door and straight up into the mountains, on foot or on skis, provides a deep calm that both adults and children really benefit from, and to relax properly, we have chosen not to have wifi in the cabin. There are plenty of great hikes and all seasons offer great opportunities to explore the area - in summer, those who are not afraid of cold water can take a really refreshing dip, and in winter you can rent a snowmobile and drive into the fantastic trail network. Perhaps take the trip all the way to Elgå and have lunch at Femund lodge, run by Lars Monsen himself! There are also great opportunities for alpine skiing in Trysilfjellet or across the border to Idrefjell in Sweden. One of my personal favorites is Stall Rydland, where you can rent horses and go horseback riding in the forest or enjoy sleigh rides in the winter. For the little ones in the family, the hike up to a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole with a fire pit just half an hour's walk from the cabin is ideal - even short legs can make the trip.
