1850s cottage by Vättern near Omberg

You'll be staying in the village's oldest cottage, likely dating from the 1850s, with a beautiful view of Lake Vättern. Here, historic charm blends with modern comforts, perfect for those seeking peace and quiet and a close connection to nature.

Inside, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy living room with a tiled stove, TV, and radio, as well as a bedroom with plenty of storage. The shower room includes a toilet. Please note that the ceilings are low in some places, approximately 195 cm. The property slopes down toward the water, where you’ll find a deck just 20 metres from Lake Vättern. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee with a view of the lake or end the day with a peaceful evening by the water. For a little extra relaxation, we've got a lovely wood-fired sauna that you're welcome to use—we even use it from time to time. After the sauna, you can take a refreshing dip in the lake or shower in the outdoor shower.

In the village, there’s a small shop selling freshly smoked fish from Lake Vättern, but you’ll also find most of what you need in terms of groceries here. Explore Omberg’s walking and cycling trails or visit the historic town of Vadstena with its castle. Borghamn Strand offers meals and coffee breaks, and in Hästholmen, you’ll find award-winning ice cream at 31:ans Glass.
