The cabin is located approx. 1 km from the Ski Association's cabin at Løvlia, which serves cinnamon buns in summer and winter. There's no water or electricity, but there are solar panels so you have light, a well-functioning fridge, a gas stove and a generator that runs a separate hydrant in the area. The host is also happy to provide either heating and a fire in the fireplace, or guidance over the phone.
Enjoy a hot bath under the stars in the wood-fired hot tub outside the cabin. In the summer, there are nearby idyllic ponds that are perfect for cooling off.
The area around the cabin offers many activities all year round, and is a snowy and safe cross-country skiing paradise in winter and a place for great bike rides in summer. My name is Christine and we are a family of four (two children aged 10 and 12) who usually live in central Oslo who own this charming cabin in Krokskogen. The cabin was built in 1972, and although we've done a lot of redecorating and put in some modern interiors, we've been keen for the cabin to bear the mark of its long history.
Here we live the simple life all year round, it's therapy to enjoy the solitude and tranquillity of the forest so close to the city and home. It's snowy and with fantastic ski slopes by the cabin in winter. It's pure meditation to be in all the greenery and swim in the ponds in the summer.
This is our favorite place on earth, a place where we enjoy ourselves and get lots of replenishment.
The cabin is easily accessible from Oslo, about 17 kilometers on skis from both Lommedalen and Sørkedalen. You're guaranteed to find peace and quiet here. We look forward to welcoming you!
