Clear view over Veddinge Bakker and Sejerø Bay

We are a family of four - my husband and I and our two girls aged 3 and 6 - and we love our dream cottage. The area, the view and the cottage itself always gives us peace of mind and we are here as much as we can.

For many years we have commuted back and forth between Jutland and Copenhagen to visit family and friends, and at some point the idea arose to buy a summer house on the "halfway" that could bind us closer together across the country. During the corona lockdown, we had extra time to look, and we instinctively fell in love with this house and its location. The house needed a loving hand and had a lot of unfulfilled potential, so we spent the first 1.5 years completely renovating the cottage with the help of both architects and turnkey contractors.

We love the many beaches in the area. About 15 minutes' drive north is Gudmindrup Lyng, a really nice beach that's especially good for smaller children. We also love the beach at Høve Forest, and of course 'our' beach right by the cottage. However, there are more rocks, so if we need to spend most of the day at the beach, we often drive 10-15 minutes north or south. We also love to take walks along the beach, preferably to and from Ordrup, where we enjoy a coffee and ice cream.

Lillero is a great place to drink coffee and not least to have dinner. Remember to book a table as it's often full. You can walk there via the beach or drive there in 5 minutes. Sommerland Zealand is always a hit with the kids. We also like Sandgaarden right by Høve Bakke, where you can pet rabbits (and there are many) and buy delicious farm produce.
