Our holiday home is located between forests and open meadows, close to the sea and beach. I am an architect and designed the house myself with a special focus on natural light, natural ventilation and natural surroundings. It was important for me to adapt the house to the nature of Mols Bjerge, which is right outside the house. It was also important to take care of nature. Both in the building itself and in the construction process, we have sought to take advantage and make the best of the natural elements. All trees are preserved as much as possible, no natural soil layers are disturbed and no concrete is used, therefore the house stores CO2 and consists of 100% wood and other regional bio-based materials, such as eelgrass, which also creates a good indoor climate. The house has been selected in "From 4 to 1 Planet" as one of the most sustainable houses in Denmark.
We love living close to nature and appreciate living in a wooden house in the middle of Mols Bjerge National Park. You really feel like you're in the middle of nature, even though you're close to the urban, cultural setting of Aarhus. In addition, several main attractions on Mols are close by, such as Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri, Møldrup Gods, Fregatten Jylland, Djurs Sommerland and Ree Safaripark.
