We love our house in Liseleje, which is close to the beach, plantation and cozy seaside resort. Here we enjoy the silence, the clear starry sky and the wonderful and unspoiled nature around us. There's nothing better than sitting at our dining table with our legs up, looking out the windows and spotting birds and deer in the garden.
We swim late into the fall. We go for long walks in the plantations, on the Melby Overdrev heath and by the beach. We always come home from the beach with our pockets full because there are fossils, stones with holes in them, fine shells and amber. We also love the beach in the rain, because you can be lucky to see beautiful cloud formations and colors, and a special light can peek out. We love cycling in the area, where there are good country roads, paths and MTB trails. We also enjoy making a delicious picnic and strolling 15 minutes through Liseleje Plantage to the beach to enjoy dinner and a glass of cold rosé wine while watching the sun set in the water. The house is secluded and quiet, but it's only 500 meters to the nearest restaurant and 1000 meters to the vibrant seaside resort with shops, cafés, waffle maker and bakery. Here it's easy to fill up the fridge with delicacies at Købmand Vad, a cozy family-owned grocery store, now run by the third generation. We are particularly fond of his good steaks. We also like to go and buy an ice cream cone after dinner. We buy it either at the waffle bakery or at the Asserbo kiosk, which also exhibits the lion monkeys that are bred here in town. The rye bread and breakfast bread is picked up at the fantastic bakery in town and it's hard not to buy one of their great cakes or rum balls to take home.
