We spent six days at Tina Bent’s vacation home and had a fantastic week there—we were blessed with sunshine and truly warm weather every day, and we were able to enjoy both the area and the house to the fullest. Our review of the experience may therefore be colored by the fact that we absolutely hit the jackpot on our summer vacation, but we’re also committed to being as honest as possible. I’ll break down my review into three different categories: the area, the house, and the hosts. First, a few comments about the area. The region encompassing Kysinge, Næs, Norsminde, Aarhus, and more is a perfect destination for Norwegian tourists. It’s very easy to get here by taking the ferry to Hirtshals, and after a drive of just under an hour, you’re at the house. It’s also a short drive to Legoland, where we spent a whole day—just over an hour’s drive away. There’s a highway the entire way, and the area offers both rural charm, beautiful white beaches, and plenty of great places to eat, in addition to stunning nature, locally sourced food and ingredients, as well as easy access to urban Aarhus, where you can also find trendy cafés, restaurants, and vintage shopping. The area and its people exude a great sense of happiness. It’s mostly populated by people who are quite well-off, as they can afford to have these vacation homes as their second homes.
