We are Karen and Kurt, a retired couple who love to travel and meet new people through our summer house rental. The cottage is owned by our son, who lives in Aarhus. He occasionally comes to the house with friends and to surf, and otherwise it's our sanctuary. We live about 30 km from Vorupør and enjoy staying in the summer house both summer and winter, because we really relax here. In the summer, we enjoy the many sheltered spots on the grounds, and in the winter it's great to sit in front of the wood-burning stove with a good book while looking out at the black night sky.
Vorupør is really cozy with several good places to buy fish and small cozy second-hand shops. It's a great place to surf and there are good opportunities to rent equipment in town. We never get tired of walking along the water and feeling the wild power of the North Sea. There are also a wealth of beautiful trails and hiking routes in Thy National Park, where we like to walk at Bøgsted Rende just north of Vorupør or at Isbjerget a little further north near Nors. Stenbjerg Landingplace just south of Vorupør is also recommended for the most beautiful sunsets. Lodbjerg Lighthouse is also always a great experience with its fantastic views and cozy café. There is plenty of space along the water, in the dunes and in the forests, so you always have the opportunity to go for walks and enjoy nature in complete privacy.
