Peace of mind and a smile on your lips at Havnsø

In the small, yellow cottage at Havnsø in West Zealand you can feel at home. Nature is invited in on the few cosy square metres. In the bedrooms, you'll again be embraced by a carefully composed colour palette and feel a sense of calm with everlasting flowers on the windowsill and bamboo bedspreads. In one room, you'll feel like you're lying in a cave, just closing your eyes in the sunshine. In the other, you can gather in the evening and watch a beautiful sunset. When it's time to take a shower, you don't have to worry about whether there's enough hot water for the next person in line. There's a flow-through water heater, so you can wrap yourself in a hot shower with peace of mind. In the garden, you can walk around and smell the flowers, or watch the life in the butterfly bush as you feel the grass tickle your bare toes. On the south-west facing terrace, you can lounge and take a nap or just watch the children playing tag on the grass. Set the table and enjoy the fragrance that spreads as you grill virgin lobster tails or a good roast. Jump in the hot wilderness pool with a cold beer and watch the light change as the sunset paints colors in the sky. You can also explore the local area. At the harbour's fish market, Havnsø Fisk, you can buy fresh salmon and drink a cold rosé. At the Pancake House you can eat a warm, soft pancake, and the children can play in the nature playground or watch the pigs, turtles or parrot. There is also a sauna on the harbour. If you like winter swimming, you can book a one-day ticket, jump into the water from the jetty and then gather for a chat in the warm sauna. You can also pack a big lunch, bring your bike and board the Nexelø Ferry for a day trip to one of the nearby islands. In summer, it's also worth keeping an eye out for flea markets on the harbour, where you can pick up some special finds.
