Seaside cabin with private beach and jetty, Hvaler

Hvalerbu is located right by the sea at Skjærhalden, Hvaler, with a private beach, a dock, and sunshine all day long. The outdoor areas face both the morning and evening sun, and Fredrikstad is just 30 minutes away.

Inside, there is an open-concept kitchen, dining area, and living room, a large hallway, and two spacious bathrooms with showers, toilets, and sinks. One bathroom has a washing machine. The veranda gets sun from mid-morning until sunset.

From the dock, you can go crab fishing, a popular activity for all ages. Two kayaks with paddles and life jackets are available for exploring the archipelago and paddling out to the Humlungen Lighthouse. The coastal trail along the shore also leads there. At the city beach, you can book a sauna so you can swim outdoors all year round.

Skjærhalden’s town center features shops, restaurants, and the Lisa Aisato Gallery. Behind the gallery, you’ll find a lookout point offering views of the entire Skjærhalden area. Take the ferry to Strømstad in Sweden, catch a free ferry to the neighboring islands, or visit Makø Farm with its summer café and alpacas.
