Swedish lakeside and forest house

Built in 2026 in the Swedish style, this house sits where the forest meets the lake in Småland. The trees begin right behind the house, and the water lies in front. You'll wake up surrounded by nature, which is close by all day long. There's no TV—that's by design: Evenings here are reserved for the campfire, board games, and conversation.

Large windows in the kitchen and living room face the lake and the surrounding greenery, so you feel like part of the landscape even when you’re indoors. The fireplace warms up the living room on cooler evenings. In the attic, there’s a special Northern Lights window that lets you lie in bed and gaze up at the stars. The two double bedrooms face the forest. The house sits at the end of a quiet gravel road shared by about twenty holiday homes. Head out in a canoe, kayak, or on a SUP to explore the many small, uninhabited islands. Pack a picnic basket, and you might find one all to yourselves. Keep an eye on the sky: a bald eagle nests near the lake. Helvetets Håla, a 3-km hike through a dramatic gorge, is about a 10-minute drive away. Mountain bikers can head to Dackestupet, and Sweden Zipline offers a ride over the forest. Åseda, with a grocery store and café, is a 10–15-minute drive away. Växjö is about 40 minutes away, where you can spend a day shopping and strolling along the lakes.
