On 12 km long and 2 km wide Sejerø, you'll find a charming cottage from 1976, which exudes a true cottage atmosphere. The island is favored with the most hours of sunshine, where you are surrounded by water and child-friendly beaches, as well as rich plant and animal life.
The cottage is clad in wood both inside and out, which together with the sloping ceilings creates a cozy and cave-like feel. To brighten things up, the family has chosen to install more and larger windows and carefully selected light and bright furniture. There are many fine details and cozy knick-knacks that create a homely and personal atmosphere. The house is very well planned with two good rooms, a new annex and a Unoform kitchen with a sense of time and design. When you stand at the kitchen sink you can see all the way to Odden, and from the dining table and sofa you can enjoy the beautiful view of nature's green colors and the blue hues of the sky and sea.
Outside, soak up the sun on the covered wooden terrace or on a blanket on the grass and feel the peace and quiet that envelops you. At noon, throw some fresh fish on the grill while enjoying a cold glass of wine on the terrace, and as darkness approaches, gather around the fire pit under the starry sky.
No less than 75 meters from the cottage, you'll find the water and a lovely beach, without a through road in between. Here you can enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning, take a cool morning swim or enjoy the sunset in the evening. Due to Sejerø's dry summers, the variety of plant species on the island's many hills is something special. The island is also enriched with wild animal and bird life, which thrives due to the lack of foxes. So if you have good walking shoes, you can explore the island's beautiful nature and many plant and animal species.

- Unique location just 75 meters from the water and beautiful beach.
- The calm, the wind in the trees and the waves on the water.
- Fantastic nature with hilly landscapes and rich plant and animal life.
When we arrive at the cottage, we’re always struck by the water at the end of the property, the light, the sky, and the sea. The best part is taking a cup of coffee down to the water in the morning and maybe taking a quick dip. In the evening, we sit in front of the wood-burning stove and look out toward the water—maybe the owl will land in the big tree.
We’ve decorated the cottage simply and in a cottage-like style—both inside and out. And we use my grandmother’s Seagull tableware—I’ve always thought it suited a cottage by the water so well. Feel free to use it, but please be gentle with it.
There’s a lovely swimming beach right below the house—though we usually walk 50–100 meters to the right along the beach, near the boathouse. There’s a stretch with a nice sandy bottom. But the beach is constantly changing, so you’ll have to find the best swimming spot yourself! We have two kayaks that you’re welcome to use—it’s lovely to start the day with a kayak trip along the beach.
We have a set routine when we arrive on the island: first we pick up eggs from the egg vendor, then vegetables from Carl, and finally fish at the harbor. Especially in the summer, there are more people on the island fishing, and you might be lucky enough to buy some fish when you’re out at the harbor. Otherwise, Brugsen is the island’s “center”—they have a good selection, and we encourage you to shop there.
Sejerøhuset at the harbor is a lovely spot to sit with a glass of wine and look out over the water—you can also sit behind the house on a warm day. A new tenant has moved in, whom we haven’t met yet. The beach behind Sejerøhuset is a great place to swim. Be sure to visit the ice cream stand at the harbor or the mini-golf course in the middle of the island.
There are hiking trails on the island—see the brochure. The area around the lighthouse is very beautiful—there are also tables and benches there, so you can bring your coffee up there. A trip to Revet is also a must, with rich birdlife and beautiful nature.
We hope you will enjoy the vacation home, the beach, and the island as a whole.
